Brainerd Lakes

The last day of our honeymoon was really fun. We took a leisurely drive back through some small towns in the Brainerd Lakes area. We shopped for antiques in Crosby, saw Lake Mille Lacs for the first time, and took pictures of some fun statuary along the way...

That looks so fun! I love your quirky honeymoon spot.

Remember how I first moved to MN and told your mom that Dave and I were going to "Lake Mee-lay Lox?" She was like, "What the hell." She'll never let me live it down. That was when I first got schooled on how midwesterners pronounce Frenchy names in a totally flat accent. Mill Lax. I know better now.

Ha! Of course I had that story in my mind when we saw the amazing Lake Mee-Lay Lox! You know we Barett's will always get a kick out of that. And for the record, I prefer your interpretation.
