September 11

Mom and I went to the capital on September 11 to participate in a 10th anniversary presentation.

There were not actually that many people in attendance, but almost all of Minnesota's top politicians were. Below, the Governor is speaking, and Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar are sitting to the left, along with the Mayors of both Minneapolis and Saint Paul, and tons of other congressmen/women and former governors.

It was a nice way to commemorate the day. But mostly I had to show these pictures because of the surprise finale featuring none other than 'In the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theater' puppets! Yes, Andria, you missed it.

As usual, they were very cool... especially this bird of peace thing that flew down to the crowd.

And of course there was this obligatory MotherEarth/Peace/Goddess/Faith/Love/Humanity puppet presiding over all. I only wish Andria and Dave could have been there with us to see the naked dancers burst forth from this puppet's dress to flitter down across the capital lawn and out into the streets of Saint Paul...... Just kidding! But that would have been something.
