Primitives in Water

This is a digital animation I made in class this morning. It took 2 hours to render so you can imagine how long it takes to make a Pixar movie! Please notice the cool water texture and the mirrored background, they are the real treats here.

Dave and I just watched this and said, "WHOA!" at the same time when the sphere thingies dropped into the water. True, we don't get out much, but it was pretty exciting. This is very cool. I don't know how you do this stuff, but it's awesome!

Pretty amazing. Is this something you will use in your field? I really like the new banner you have. Did you take that picture of one of those beastly Texas birds?

I remember the bird picture! I think it was from a field trip to Dallas, right?! (Do I get a gold star for remembering that?) ;)

Gold star for Andria! And this animation is quite simple but it is the basis for learning how to animate complex scenes (such as landscapes) with moving parts. Totally cool stuff.
