Final Review: Design 1

Well, I am finished with one of the most stressful weeks of my entire life. The culmination came yesterday with a 9 hour design review. Basically, you present the work you have slaved over for weeks, and a panel of five academics tell you why it sucks for half an hour. It is a really nerve-racking experience. And most of us were going into with less than adequate rest beforehand. Anyhow, the point is, its over! (And I will be back in the homeland before another week. Although I do have two more tests to take before that happens)

9am: Erika gives first presentation. Only 9 hours left to go. Notice the row of heads- just buzzing inside, trying to find the biggest words with which to criticize the poor student for as long as possible. My new opinion is that the graduate school of design is really just a hazing camp. If you survive three years then they let you in the club. Maybe then you can laugh about how silly it all is.

Class site plan model, and Steve watching reviews.

One of the three models (and seven drawings I made).

Another model, at a bigger scale.

6pm: Oh, sweet relief! It is over!

First semester complete, only five more to go!

Moving fast- gotta get out- need a beer- now!

Who are these nerds?

And, on a side note: here is a much-improved, happy cat, sitting on my lap while I type.
