The Battle Oaks

I had wanted to post about these trees since the summer, but never seemed to remember to get a good picture of them when I was at school. Anyhow, here they are- The Battle Oaks. This is a grove of three oak trees that were on the grounds of the original forty acres when the University of Texas opened in 1883. Their commemorative plaque notes that the oldest tree (in the middle) 'antedates the war between the states.' Also, they are named after an early 20th century president of UT.

They're beautiful - and historic to boot! It looks so nice there. I think you're gonna cry when you get back here.
