OBAMA '08

Hey guys, I am so excited. I just wanted to let you know that I voted today, in Texas. I wanted to vote in the exciting Coleman vs. Franken match-up in Minnesota this year. But I really relish the act of going to the polling place and placing my vote, so I decided to register here in Texas. And I must say, it was a much different experience here than it is at home. First of all, they have early voting, so people have been voting all week, and will continue to until next Tuesday. Also, they do electronic voting here. And let me tell you, at first glance it is complicated! There are all these labeled arrow buttons and a wheel that spins. I cannot imagine anybody's grandma or grandpa trying to navigate this thing. I am also a little leary of the transfer of data. Call me old fashioned, but I'll take a pencil and paper any day. Anyhow, I did it. And man, I really felt elated afterwards. Barack Obama is so exciting I can hardly stand it! Its kind of sad to know that the state of Texas will go for McCain. But at the same time I feel good knowing that I personally voted for someone and something so monumentally important. So, I'll get off my soapbox now. Just thought I would share...

That Obama is one handsome devil! Good for you for doing your civic duty. We sure could have used your Franken vote up here, though. Let's cross our fingers for a result we can live with on Tuesday.

Hooray Auntie B! Nice picture, too. It's like Obama is personally tipping his hat to you, and to your little cat.

Way to go, Brit! Texas is a better place for having you there. Good point on the voting machines, though - how many grannies are getting all this stuff and actually casting the right vote? It must have been satisfying for you, though, to actually go to the polling place and place your vote.
