WELCOME TO TEXAS!

View from the front door of my new place: tiny kitchen to the left, bathroom in the far corner, and the one window is out of view to the right.

Funky 70's bathroom:

Hi Mom, Andria, and Dave (and anyone else who might find their way here)! We made it. I took a lot of pics on my film funsaver of our harrowing journey through middle America. However, you will have to wait until I take the film to get developed to get the full show.
As for now, I just wanted you to see my tiny little apartment and the chaos we are wrangling with. Here, Erik is putting together my new IKEA furniture. What a trooper he is!
I would go outside and take some pics of the outside of the building, but it is about 105 degrees out there. No exaggeration! So that will have to wait until evening...
Anyhow, I will talk to you all soon! much Love, Britta

Thank you for telling us that there IS a window. I was starting to worry. No, seriously, it looks like a good, authentic little grad student convent-room. Congrats on making it!!!! I hear it was a harrowing trip. We were thinking of you the whole time. We have a package coming your way.

By the way, one of Nora's many requests today was for me to "be Auntie B." I just talked in my "princess voice," and it made her happy. I don't think you HAVE a princess voicce, but whatever.

Hang in there. Hope to talk to you soon! We miss you!
love, Andria
p.s. And in the future, I will use these "comment" boxes for their rightful purpose, not for long, awkward epistles. I swear.

It's strange to see the stuff that was just strewn all over my family room now strewn all over an apartment in Texas. I'm looking forward to the "after" photos. Erik is awesome!

Miss you! Mom
